I’ve had the good fortune to try most types of Active Noise Cancelling Headphones available in the UK. This review will simply list a few pros and cons in relation to the Aero 7 model, which I now use daily.

Very effective noise cancellation, only marginally worse than the Bose QC25 / QC35. Better than any others that I’ve tested.
They’re comfortable, mostly due to the cushioned leatherette ear cups.
They have withstood the rigours of a 2 hour daily commute on public transport for longer than the QC25 of which the left channel failed. Other QC25 reviewers have reported the same problem.
They are powered by two replaceable AAA batteries. This was important to me because my first choice, the Bose QC35, has a built-in rechargeable battery which Bose say can not be replaced. Hence, the entire life cycle of the QC35 units begins to expire from the moment the battery is manufactured, regardless of how long it takes to reach the end user, buried inside a pair of headphones.

The sound quality with noise cancellation switched off is poor due to high frequency roll off which makes them sound ‘muddy’.
With noise cancellation switched on, the sound quality is good but not as good as some other high end types.
A cable is required between the audio player and the headphones, unless you wear them to simply blot out the noise of engines and other people, for example, when you’re reading.
They don’t have any ‘street cred’. You’re highly unlikely to impress the pretty girl on the train with these!

These are only my thoughts and I hope they will be helpful – if noting else, they show that one can not determine the quality of a product by looking at the price tag.

As a simple test, listen to the noise from a microwave oven while it’s warming something. Switch these on and take them on and off, the level of noise reduction is outstanding.

The hard cover case is great. Noise cancelling good. The headphones are great...apart from the usual design flaw with the swivel connection between ear cup and the over the head part. Despite treating them very carefully and dutifully packing them away after every use, the swivel part broke after a couple of months. Why can't manufacturers spend just a little bit more on making the swivel part out of metal so that it lasts more than a few months? I'd happily pay a bit more for a headphone with a metal swivel.

I needed to buy the wife some active noise cancelling headphones for a long haul flight. I already have a set of Panasonic ones but she has always been after a set. I knew they didn't need to be fantastic audio quality as they were to be used on a plane for watching movies and we are not constantly flying. After reading the reviews I brought these and have tried them out at home. They work very well. I took note of one of the other reviews who said to save your money and not bother with the Bluetooth version. They come with all the bits you need to connect them to the plane or your tablet as well as a decent length lead.

The sound quality is great, especially with the 'noise cancelling' on. But they definitely do not cancel out a lot of noise. I've had them for a few weeks, I can still hear the traffic when wearing them outside, and I tried them on a bus last night to watch a film, but I could easily hear the drivers radio.

Great, comfortable headphones, but they shouldn't be advertised as noise cancelling, which is the main reason I've gave only 2 stars.

These are excellent quality for the price, lightweight and foldable (with their own carry case) so easy to take with you. In particular they are well balanced (none of this bass-heavy rubbish you sometimes get), and as for the noise cancelling, even if you have no input to the headphones you will notice a drastic drop in noise level when you switch the cancelling on.

I have only two quibbles with them:
* The volume level is slightly, but noticeably, higher with noise cancelling on. THis doesn't bother me, but it's something to take into consideration.
* The major problem, as noted in other reviews, is the poor quality of the supplied connector cable; this badly lets down an otherwise excellent product. I was particularly unlucky in that mine failed the very first time I tried to use it; I got about 30 seconds of right-channel-only, then silence. Fortunately, I had read the other reviews and purchased a good-quality replacement cable, which I connected and was up and running again.

Excellent for use in hospital especially with the noise cancelling feature. I put these on during the night time and with the noise cancelling was able to go to sleep listening to radio 4 when the six in the morning observations were going on. The only downside is the sound quality which seems a little muddy if noise cancelling is switched off.

Great Noise cancelling on long-haul flights. Terrible design however as despite treating these with the utmost of care (they still look as new) , the Achilles heel of this design proved to be the pathetic swivel joint breaking. As far as I can see it is un-fixable and irreplaceable. A real shame and at nearly £39 when I purchased them, a mistake I will not be repeating.

Brilliant product for the money. Used for several long flights and it does the noise canceling job very well. I've compared directly with a friend's Bose headphones and they definitely do cut out a little more noise when no other input is being played to the headphones but with music or a film soundtrack playing, I couldn't tell the difference

I bought these as work in a very noisy office, people talking, building work etc.

The noise cancelling is only partially effective. I can still hear my colleague sitting next to me on the phone, for example (every word), I can still hear the calls from the sales teams behind me, etc. If a phone rings 20 feet away, I can hear that, too. Someone else has a BOSE pair and they cancel significantly more noise - with those you can barely hear anything - so if you have the money they would be worth the investment over these.

Combined with some low level white noise or soft music pretty much all sound is cancelled. They are comfortable enough to wear all day and sound quality is for music.

Overall not bad but not a huge advantage over earphones without 'active noise cancelling' and a long way behind the more expensive competition.

Fantastic for the price so far! Will update this review if I notice any negatives about these headphones or if they break, but after a quick test, music sounds less clear compared my Sony in-ear earphones with the noise cancellation turned off, but with the noise cancellation turned on they sound even better while blocking out more sound.

I mainly bought these for listening to ASMR and other relaxing soundtracks while in bed, I will probably be using them for watching Netflix etc. at night as they sound much better and are more comfortable than my current cheap USB gaming headset (Turtle Beach PLa).

Update: Not bad headphones when the noise-cancellation is turned on, but be aware the sound quality is pretty bad with the active cancelling turned off. Also I don't have a particularly large head, but they headphones are quite tight for me. I am returning them as they are not suited for my intended usage at home, but would still recommend if you need effective active noise cancellation on a budget.
